Angela Treat Lyon is one of today's foremost stone carvers.
Taking her inspiration solely from dreams, she brings a complete otherworld of beings to life in stone and bronze.

Lyon attended art institutions in New York and California.  After a successful twenty-year career as a master fine art potter, she  taught herself to carve stone. worked alone for ten years, then went to Italy to work with the expert marble carvers of Carrara and Pietra Santa. Now, after fifteen years of perfecting her skill, her dreams sing clearly through these powerful, sensual carvings.

Angela Treat Lyon  has spent most of her life in the islands of Hawaii. She now lives and works in a small town near Santa Fe, New Mexico, and travels extensively to carve, teach, interact and study with other master carvers.

Lyon's passion for and commitment to her work is such that there is no separation between her art and her life. She lives her work, sleeping, eating and breathing it with a constant influx and manifestation of images and forms.
