Construction: Old, authentic New Mexican adobe walls
combined with contemporary frame/stucco in the new areas.
Sealed wood trim.
Foam-and-gravel and anodized-metal roofs.
Concrete footings and wooden floors with utility access spaces,
and concrete slab floors.

The house is bermed to the North, solar-lighted from the South,
and has skylights throughout, making for fuel and lighting savings
and comfort;  it is zone-heated with gas and electric heaters
strategically placed for efficiency and economy in augmenting
the passive solar design.

The floors are carpeted or saltillo tiled.  (The kitchen has vinyl,
with ceramic tile; and the inner patio, flagstone.)

The following gives an idea of the
adaptable nature of this home:
The living-room has a 14 ft. high ceiling, and clerestory
windows on the South, and a double sundoor covered deck to a
private yard.  (This room is currently being used as a sculpture
studio with its own sculpture yard.)

The Dining-room is an inner room off the kitchen and
the
solarium foyer (It is currently a sitting-room/living-room).

The contemporary Country Kitchen has a full, sunny,
bay-window sitting/eating area with an aviary setting.
(Wild birds flock from the surrounding, ancient trees.)

The Kitchen opens out to the Sunken-Gardenroom, which
has clerestories to the West, and high, garden-view windows
to the East and South.

The Gardenroom connects to an inner Patio, which serves as the
hall and stairway for the
Guest Suite.

The Guest Apartment
The Guest Suite consists of a Living-room with private,
outside, front entrance
(This room is currently being used as a painting studio);
a Kitchenette/Study
and a Balcony Bedroom/Media Studio and/or Office,
with ceiling-high, solar windows on the South.
These wonderful windows light the stairs and Patio below.

Opening off the Balcony Room is a private, shady, upper,
outside deck,
which overlooks the
flowing acequia
The Guest Suite also has a
lavatory and a Mexican tile shower.

The west, older end of the house contains
three adaptable Bedrooms/Family Room/Studies
Two of these three rooms have viga ceilings and all have old, farmhouse glass-panel doors.
In this area is another full Bathroom with
Mexican tile appointments.
